Abstract

Esta investigação tem por tema cuidadores formais e informais “olhares sobre idosos com demência” o objetivo deste estudo é compreender a experiência dos cuidadores formais e informais de idosos dementes, os aspetos subjetivos, mas também as condicionantes mais estruturais que constroem e condicionam essa experiência. Recensear as estratégias que utilizam estes cuidadores, mas também as dificuldades que experimentam no cuidado quotidiano a estes idosos. Perceber se existem respostas sociais de apoio para cuidadores, se estão em funcionamento, se são mobilizadas pelos cuidadores, e a sua importância na minimização do impacto causado pela demência nos cuidadores. Neste sentido este trabalho insere-se numa investigação qualitativa. Primeiramente procedeu-se a uma revisão bibliográfica alusiva ao tema, seguido de uma descrição da metodologia. Assim foram entrevistados um grupo de participantes, constituído por 6 cuidadores formais são auxiliares da ação direta que desempenham suas funções em dois Centros de dia do conselho da Guarda, duas diretoras técnicas de cada um dos centros de dia. E 5 cuidadores informais que são familiares dos idosos com demência que estão nestes dois centros de dia. No que concerne às principais conclusões do nosso estudo foi nos percetível a necessidade que existe em os cuidadores de idosos terem mais formação e conhecimentos na área da demência. No que respeita aos cuidadores informais também verificou-se a necessidade de terem mais informação e conhecimento sobre a patologia do seu familiar e os modos de a gerir. Seria fundamental personalizar os apoios aos cuidadores consoantes as suas circunstâncias e contextos de vida, no sentido do que o próprio percebe como qualidade dos cuidados e qualidade de vida.

This research is themed formal and informal caregivers' perspectives on elderly people with dementia "the objective of this study is to understand the experience of formal and informal caregivers of demented elderly, the subjective aspects, but also more structural constraints that construct and condition that experience. Census strategies using these caregivers, but also the difficulties they experience in everyday care to these elderly people. Understand if there are social responses of support for caregivers, whether they are running, whether they are mobilized by caregivers, and their importance in minimizing the impact of dementia on caregivers. In this sense this work is part of a qualitative research. First we proceeded to a literature review alluding to the subject, followed by a description of the methodology. So they were interviewed a group of participants consisting of 6 formal caregivers are auxiliary direct action they perform their functions in two day centers Guarda board, two directors techniques each day centers. And five informal caregivers who are family members of elderly people with dementia who are these two day centers. As regards the main conclusions of our study was noticeable in the need that exists in the elderly caregivers have more training and knowledge in the field of dementia. With regard to informal caregivers also found the need to have more information and knowledge about the condition of your family and the ways to manage it. Would be crucial customize support to caregivers consonants your circumstances and contexts of life, towards the own perceive as quality of care and quality of life.
