Prática Desportiva no Tempo Livre e de Lazer

Abstract

The present Internship Report falls within the scope of the Masters in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education of the University of Beira Interior and is composed of three fundamental parts. In the first moment, we fit and contextualize our professional path from the initial formation through the continuous formation that we have been doing over the years in function of the needs and challenges that we have been living, trying to present, describe and substantiate the stages that we understand most relevant. In the second part we present evidence of the accomplishment of the professional practice that materialized in the scope of the present Report of Internship in the observation of a set of classes in the School EB 2e3 of the Grouping of Schools António Alves Amorim, in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, in a class of the 7th year, on which we present a framework, analysis and critical reflection. In the third moment we present the research work that we had opportunity to carry out on the practice of sport as an occupation activity of leisure time and leisure of children. The main objective of this study was to verify the relevance that sports practice occupies in children's leisure time, identifying the main influences and oppositions to practice and not practice sports. The sample of this study, made through the application of a questionnaire (adapted from the survey used by Fernandes (2002)), consisted of 293 students from the 3rd and 4th years of schooling (aged 7 to 12 years) , of both sexes, of the seven schools of the António Alves Amorim School Group. From the obtained data, we could conclude that the taste for sport varies according to gender, that the modalities identified as supply are varied, that the children of the masculine sort practice sport during more time during the week than that the girls, that to different social bands do not correspond to practices of differentiated sporting activities or that physical activities practiced are usually preferred, and that the reasons why children do not practice sport are the parents' prohibition and the lack of time to do so.
