Abstract

The world's population is increasing exponentially as time passes as the constant demand for energy. At this rate it is estimated that non-renewable sources of energy will be extinguished in a near future. Alternative energy sources such as energy harvesting are therefore required to be able to feed the most basic systems. Energy harvesting is associated with the uptake of small amounts of energy through various systems whether through the sun, vibrations, or through human physiological processes such as movement or body temperature. In this work, the concept of "energy harvesting" is associated to energy capture based on the availability of thermal energy in the human body since there is a gradient in relation to the temperature of the environment. Through thermoelectric devices this energy can be captured and stored using electronic conditioning systems. It will be proposed a system for capturing thermal energy from the human body, defining the matrix of thermoelectric modules and their interconnection, as well as the circuit of conditioning and energy storage. The system will be characterized from the point of view of energy availability, depending on the area of module placement and the available temperature gradients.
