ATRIBUCIONES CAUSALES EN ALUMNOS CON NIVELES DIFERENTES DE ESTRÉS EN EL CONTEXTO ACADÉMICO

Abstract

Current research considers it especially relevant to assess the emotional state and the various sources of stress that students face in their daily lives. The main purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between four sources of students stress (Interactions with the teacher, Academic Stress, Interactions with Peers and Academic Self-Concept) and the causal attributions produced in the face of their academic success and failure (ability, effort and external causes). A sample of 753 Spanish schoolchildren (49.9% male) from 8 to 11 year old (M=9.6; SD=1.11) was used. The School Situations Interview and the Sydney Attribution Scale were used to collect data. Correlation and logistic regression coefficients show the relationship and predictive capacity of experiences of stress in the casual attributions presented by Spanish schoolchildren.
