Abstract

O presente trabalho trata do sítio Testa Branca II, encontrado em 2001 pela equipe do Núcleo Tocantinense de Arqueologia durante o programa SALTESTREITO, entretanto as intervenções no mesmo ocorreram somente nove anos após sua descoberta. Foram escavados dois cortes testes com a finalidade de confirmar a hipótese que as gravuras continuariam surgindo em cotas negativas, resultando na descoberta de gravuras até os níveis 100-105 cm. Devido a esta constatação, optou-se por escavar uma trincheira na margem do paredão, evidenciando todas as gravuras em cotas negativas, possibilitando a documentação total do sítio. Após a reconstituição dos quatro painéis que o compõem, estes foram analisados de forma individual. Posteriormente foi executada análise global, correlacionando as gravuras ao contexto arqueológico.
