Paleoambiente e arqueologia no nordeste do Brasil

Abstract

Esse trabalho intende discutir os dados paleoambientais e arqueológicas no contexto do Nordeste do Brasil. A partir da bibliografia foi possível perceber diferentes períodos de aridez, como o do Holoceno Médio, que ocorre em algumas partes do Planalto Central brasileiro, mas não nas regiões Nordeste e Sudeste. Nesse período, em áreas arqueológicas importantes como Lagoa Santa, ocorre um evento chamado de hiato do arcaico, que se manifesta pela diminuição da ocupação humana, possivelmente por conta do deficit hidríco. Entretanto, no Nordeste essa lacuna não é observada, como demonstrado pela grande frequência de sítios arqueológicos com datações que cobrem toda o Holoceno, especialmente na região de São Raimundo Nonato. Para compreender as dinamicas paloambientais durante os últimos 60.000 anos, foi elaborada uma proposta de estudo antracológico para o Boqueirão da Pedra Furada.
