Abstract

Now a days it is very common to hear of social responsability, especially, at a corporate level. This so called topic may be defined as the way an organization or enterprise places its self within its community in order to comply with the expectations of that same community without losing site of its core goals. Those expectations are considered to be primarily ethic values and organizational strategies, that should be in sync with the three corner stones of social responsibility: economic, social and environmental which sometimes are spread out through two separate dimensions: external and internal. With regards to the internal dimension of social responsability within an enterprise, particularly in what concerns the management of human resources, we find the balance between the professional and private lives of employees, which is currently a challange that working mothers face every day, mainly those that want to succeed in their careers. The purpose of this project is to better understand from the point of view of the employees at TAP Portugal, whether or not the resources available enable them to obtain the above mentioned balance between their professional and family lives thus promoting equality amongst genres.
