Abstract

The ecological issue is, in the current context, a pressing and urgent concern for Humanity. However, it cannot be restricted only to the environmental issue; it has to be considered in a holistic perspective and where the human being is a fundamental element. This work, the result of the teaching and critical analysis of the Teaching Unit 1 of the 7th year "As Origens" carried out within the scope of Supervised Teaching Practice, aims to reflect on integral ecology and human dignity having as guiding pillars the narratives of creation present in the Book of Genesis and Pope Francis' Encyclical Letter Laudato Si' on Care for the Common Home. Considering the role of human been as co-responsible for Creation, we will conclude this work by presenting a teaching proposal on the theme "Creation: an unfinished event", where Laudato Si' is introduced, culminating with the contribution that the subject of Catholic Moral and Religious Education can have in the school for the integral development of the students, the Ger(a)ção Club.
