Abstract

The Course of Post-graduate in Nursing with Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing constituted a fundamental strategy for the acquisition of high levels of critical thinking and decision-making, translated into a set of specific skills that are intended to improve the nursing care provided to the adult patient in critical situation and/or organ failure, at a deeper level of knowledge and skills. This Report sought to give visibility to solutions developed for the identified situations/problem, reflect on and about the activities and their ethical and social implications and properly communicate the conclusions drawn during the Emergency Service (ES), Multivalent Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Pre-hospital Assistance (PHA) Modules. The preparation of the intervention Project Risk Management - Medication Error at ES, the poster on the "Scheduling of Treatment of Pressure Ulcers" and updating the procedure of "Pressure Ulcers" in the MICU and the poster "How To Act Before an Emergency Vehicle" in PHA, were my specific contributions to the continuous improvement of quality, in the context of specialization. This report aims to give a clear understanding of the ability to identify and analyse problems, develop strategies, implement solutions, demonstrate the ability to reflect on the actions taken and their ethical and social implications. With this report I also demonstrate the importance of the course of three modules in the acquisition of skills and the need for constant mobilization of knowledge necessary for the journey of lifelong learning and personal enrichment and professional indispensable to the full performance of the function of EEMC. Using a methodology critical-reflexive, I have chosen to divide the work into three parts: Introduction, development and Conclusion. The development is organized by different common areas of Nurse Specialist: the professional responsibility, ethics and legal; the continuous improvement of quality; management of care; and the development of professional learning, with a particular focus on learning, reflecting on and referring to the different modules. This long walk will have a key role in future actions, providing tools for improving the daily
