This paper is the end of an important learning way and it is aimed at registering and sharing the experiences acquired during the Training Period that was held at the Urgency Service of the Hospital Centre of Médio-Ave – Famalicão Unit (Unit I) and at the Intensive Medicine Service of the Hospital Pedro Hispano (Unit II) and also the general and specific competences that were acquired or structured during the named formative period. The present document was built up according to the established by the syllabus of the Master in Nursing with medical-chirurgical specialization and it contains reflexive and analytical features of our performance, wishing to give special visibility to the development of competences in the area of the mentioned specialization as far as the advanced assistance to the critical patient is concerned. In it, the common competences are referred in the initial part, followed by the specific competences of the specialized nurse when assisting the critical patient (suggested by the Nurses Order). The activities, the suggested and/or implemented strategies during the Trainee period, aimed at the acquisition of these competences and the difficulties and/or constraints are mentioned as well and the paper finishes by a conclusion summary. The methodology used when doing this paper is based upon the descriptive and analytical method, through reflex ion and mentioning the activities that were held during the Trainee Period and also in a critical-reflexive analysis, thinking about the suggested strategies and the way they were introduced. We showed, this paper long, that is mandatory to get the master degree in Nursing with Specialization in Medical-chirurgical Nursing, the way how we developed technical-scientific, professional, ethical, social, relational competences, so that we can be able to deal with complex situations, including the ones which happen in the context of the assistance of specialized nursing to the critical patient, in order to reach the excellence level in the nursing care, in name of the professionalism, deontology, the ethic and the human dignity.

O presente Relatório representa o culminar de um importante percurso de aprendizagem e tem como finalidade registar e transmitir as experiências adquiridas durante o estágio que se realizou no Serviço de Urgência do Centro Hospitalar de Médio Ave - Unidade de Famalicão (Módulo I) e no Serviço de Medicina Intensiva do Hospital Pedro Hispano (Módulo II) e as competências gerais e específicas adquiridas ou consolidadas durante esse percurso formativo. Este documento foi elaborado em consonância com o preconizado pelo Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica e tem características reflexivas e analíticas da nossa actuação e pretende dar particular visibilidade ao desenvolvimento de competências na área da referida especialização no âmbito da assistência avançada ao doente crítico. Nele se enunciam inicialmente as competências comuns, seguidas das competências específicas do enfermeiro especialista em assistência ao doente crítico (propostas pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros) e se relatam as atividades, estratégias sugeridas e/ou implementadas durante a actuação no período de estágio, com vista à aquisição de cada uma dessas competências, bem como as dificuldades e/ou constrangimentos encontrados, terminando com uma síntese conclusiva. A metodologia utilizada na realização deste trabalho baseia-se no método descritivo e analítico, através da reflexão e exposição das atividades realizadas durante o estágio, e ainda na análise crítico-reflexiva, refletindo sobre as estratégias sugeridas e respectiva implementação. Demonstrámos, ao longo deste Relatório que constitui requisito para a obtenção do grau de Mestre em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, a forma como desenvolvemos competências técnico-científicas, profissionais, éticas, sociais, relacionais, para sermos capazes de gerir situações complexas nomeadamente as que surgem no âmbito da assistência de enfermagem especializada ao doente crítico, visando a excelência dos cuidados de enfermagem em nome do profissionalismo, da deontologia, da ética e da dignidade humana.
