As relações entre espontaneidade, criatividade, impulsividade e flow

Abstract

Spontaneity and creativity are essential concepts, both for the general psychology literature and for the psychodramatic theory which allows us to expect a positive significant correlation between them. The goal of this study is to understand the correlations between spontaneity, creativity, impulsivity and flow. Comparisons will also be drawn between these variables, gender, and means of data collection. For that purpose, the data of 439 adults, between 18 and 64 years of age, was collected from ISPA-IU, FMH and in an online form. Spontaneity was measured by the Revised Spontaneity Assessment Inventory (SAI-R); creativity was accessed by the Creative Personality Scale – Short Form (EPC- Short Form); impulsivity was evaluated by the N5 subscale, of the NEO Personality Inventory Revised (NEO-PI-R); to measure flow the Short Dispositional Flow Scale-2 (S DSF-2) was applied. Spontaneity, creativity and flow had a significant positive correlation. However, impulsivity didn’t correlate significantly with any of the other variables. These results have implications in terms of theory and practice for the psychodrama model.
