“Princípe do grande exílio” : Análise clínica de Bernardo Soares : Estudo de caso

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to find out Bernardo Soares’ – character created by Fernando Pessoa – psychological reality, brought to us through the book Livro do Desassossego. We made a case study, suported by a content analysis of Livro do Desassossego, which, later, made possible a clinical analysis of Bernardo Soares’ case. Precoucious holes of significant figures, a forbidden transition into the depressive position, as well as triangulation incapability, were found. The study also emphasises the fact that Bernardo Soares’ precocious hole was the catalyst of the insomnia nights, which were the dedicated to the writing of Livro do Desassossego, in a failed attempt to reach an Ideal of the unachievable Self. The consequent and frequent moments when Bernardo Soares’ writes under the influence of the primary process, were also a finding.
