O objectivo deste estudo é tentar encontrar uma relação entre as atitudes face à hipnose e o nível de sugestionabilidade hipnótica. Foram inquiridas 127 pessoas, todas estudantes universitárias e com uma média de idades de 25,75 (DP=8,87). Para a medição das atitudes foi utilizada a escala ATH – Attitudes Towards Hypnosis e para a medição do nível de sugestionabilidade hipnótica foi utilizada a HGSHS:A - Harvard Group Scale of Hypnotic Susceptibility. Os resultados do estudo demonstraram que os indivíduos com atitudes negativas em relação à hipnose obtiveram níveis de sugestionabilidade baixa e que os indivíduos que obtiveram pontuações médias e superiores na escala de atitudes obtiveram um grau maior de sugestionabilidade. Dentro das sub-escalas da ATH , Atitude Positiva e Ausência de Medo encontraram-se diferenças com o nível de sugestionabilidade. Na sub-escala Estabilidade Mental essas diferenças não foram encontradas.
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study it’s to try find a relation between attitudes towards hypnosis and the level of hypnotic susceptibility. 127 participants were submitted, all college students and with an age average of 25,75 (SD=8,87). To measure attitudes we used the ATH scale - Attitudes Towards Hypnosis and to measure hypnotic susceptibility we used the HGSHS:A - Harvard Group Scale of Hypnotic Susceptibility. The results of the study showed that the subjects with negative attitudes towards hypnosis got low levels of hypnotic susceptibility and the subjects that got medium and superior scores on attitudes got higher levels of hypnotic susceptibility. Inside the sub-scales of the ATH, Positive Attitudes and Fearlessness we found differences with the susceptibility level. In the sub-scale Mental Stability that differences weren’t found
