Griego arcaico

Abstract

Se conoce por lengua griega al conjunto de dialectos usados a lo largo y ancho de buena parte del mediterráneo oriental: colonias helenas de Asia Menor, islas del Egeo, la actual Grecia peninsular y el sur de Italia - aunque los griegos sólo se llamaron a sí mismos helenos, hellénes, recibiendo ese gentilicio con sentido peyorativo por los antiguos ítalos y romanos, en referencia al grupo étnico localizado junto a Dodona y el río Arqueloo, en el Epiro, según Arist. Meteor. 352b 2. Al menos documentalmente, está demostrada la continuidad de la lengua griega desde el s. XV a.C. hasta la actualidad, cuya periodización, si bien con múltiples puntos oscuros. se intenta resumir en las siguientes páginas.

El trabajo va dirigido especialmente a estudiantes que no han tenido un primer contacto con la lengua griega o están interesados en profundizar en su historia, dado que se trata de un recorrido por la lengua y escritura griegas desde sus inicios hasta el final del período arcaico. El material ha sido utilizado en clase desde su publicación con buenos resultados. El lenguaje sencillo, el uso de esquemas, mapas e imágenes de las primeras inscripciones griegas lo convierten en una herramienta interesante para centrar al estudiante en los primeros pasos del aprendizaje y favorece su trabajo autónomo. Material producido en libro físico y digital.
