Las Pinturas Rupestres de ?Los Guindos?

Abstract

Existen dos conjuntos (I y II).

[EN] These paintings are to be found near the lead mine of ?Los Guindos? (La Carolina-Ja?n) at about 800 meters altitude above sea level. They were discovered in 1925 near archeological remnants belanging to the Bronze Age. There are two sites (I and II). The one we are dealing with is site I, which is camposed of two groups, 1 and 2. Number 1 is on die left of the entrance, and number 2 an the ceiling. Altogether, there are 25 figures. Most of them of the ?golondrina? type (swallow) so named by Pr. P. Acosta. Only one of the figures is a quadruped. These figures are few and show great schematism - All the figures are of a red colour. For this reason they could belong to the late Bronze I or the biginning of Bronze II.
