La eclosi?n de la historia militar

Abstract

[EN] Interest in Military History has soared in Spain in recent years. Once a Cinderella subject of interest only to career officers it is now the object of thoroughgoing study and research in nearly all Spanish universities and research departments, without forgetting the contributions made by our fellow colleagues abroad. As a result it now deals with a wealth of subjects from the widest point of view, making it one of the areas of History that has made most progress in both conceptual and methodological terms. This paper offers an overview of some of the more unusual subjects in military history; their very ?newness? bears witness to the broadening of horizons in current work on military history.
