Conoc? a don Manuel Fern?ndez Alvarez a trav?s de Carlos V y conoc? mejor a Carlos V gracias a don Manuel Fern?ndez ?lvarez. Ambas figuras son, pues, para m? ?como supongo que para muchos otros? dos figuras inseparables. De ah? que, ocup?ndome desde hace tiempo del estudio de las visitas reales a mi ciudad, Barcelona, parec?a imponerse, a pesar del cierto atrevimiento que supone, la elecci?n de este tema como peque?a colaboraci?n al tan merecido homenaje que con la publicaci?n del presente volumen se le rinde.
