[ES] En este trabajo se lleva a cabo un estudio del libro L'uomo di lettere difeso ed emendato de Daniello Bartoli, un verdadero tratado ret?rico con el que el joven jesu?ta italiano irrumpe en la escena literaria del siglo XVII. La actitud moderada de su autor pone de manifiesto la aversi?n de cierta corriente intelectual del momento contra los excesos literarios de la po?tica de G. B. MARINO, proponiendo un nuevo c?digo ?tico del literato barroco.
[EN] This paper makes a study of Daniello Bartoli's book L'uomo di lettere difeso ed emendato, a veritable rhetorical treatise with which young Italian Jesuit came onto to the 17'h century literary scene. The author's restrained attitude reveals the aversion of a certain intellectual trend of the time to the literary excesses of G.B. Marino's poetics, proposing a new ethical code for the Baroque writer.
