En este art?culo observamos retrospectivamente su evoluci?n en los ?ltimos a?os, prestando especial atenci?n a su demarcaci?n con otras disciplinas como la Est?tica y la Historia del arte, as? como a su reciente repercusi?n en Espa?a.
[EN] The development of Visual Studies in recent decades shows some theoretical results that allow us to evaluate the consequences of its introduction as an autonomous research field. The aim of this article is to review this recent evolution, paying attention to the demarcation of Visual Studies with respect to other disciplines, such as Aesthetics and Art History, as well as its significant new impact in Spain.
