We have selected 37 species of dangerous invasive vascular plants living in continental Portugal. We present tables resuming the main informations related to these species: region of origin, phytotype, kind of synanthropic plant, kind of introduction, way of propagation, year of discovery or first mention as a subspontaneous plant, number of provinces in which a species is found, number of invasive species found in every province. We comment some of these characteristics and try to answer to some questions like: why do some provinces have a bigger number of invasive species than others, and what are the features which make a species invasive.
