Violencia y discurso: la Revoluci?n Cultural china en Brothers, de Yu Hua

Abstract

Se pretende reflexionar sobre la capacidad que tuvieron determinados discursos emitidos durante la Revoluci?n Cultural China (1966-1976) por parte de un r?gimen totalitario para desatar todo tipo de actos violentos, cometidos no solo desde el poder estatal, sino tambi?n por parte de la poblaci?n civil. Partiendo de ese contexto, se analizar? c?mo la propaganda dispone las condiciones para que la violencia se ejerza con impunidad y convencimiento, al amparo ?moral? de un supuesto bien com?n. Esta ?poca convulsa, marcada por humillaciones p?blicas, torturas, muertes y caos generalizado, protagonizar? numerosas producciones art?sticas y dar? forma a estilos y tendencias hasta mucho tiempo despu?s de su finalizaci?n, como la Literatura y el Arte de las Cicatrices, la Vanguardia Literaria o las sagas familiares de los a?os 90. Aqu?, revisaremos brevemente algunas de estas obras que giran en torno a la Revoluci?n Cultural para detenernos despu?s en el primer volumen de Brothers (2005-2006), novela de uno de los autores chinos m?s relevantes del panorama actual, Yu Hua, cuya obra muestra las devastadoras consecuencias que puede tener la violencia sistematizada entre la poblaci?n y, especialmente, en el lenguaje literario. Antes de centrarnos en la novela, se propone una aproximaci?n al concepto de violencia cultural, que remite al origen en el que se fragua la violencia directa, para aterrizar despu?s en su reelaboraci?n en la obra de Yu Hua.
