Los Moluscos en Arqueolog?a

Abstract

[ES]Los moluscos son un grupo de invertebrados numeroso en especies ?han sido descritas alrededor de 85 000? que han evolucionado adapt?ndose a muy diversos modos de vida y diferentes ambientes, en el mar, en las aguas dulces y en la tierra. Muchos de ellos est?n provistos de una concha calc?rea que protege sus partes blandas y que tiene la particularidad de conservarse y fosilizar con mucha facilidad. La rama de la zoolog?a que se encarga de su estudio es la malacolog?a. La arqueolog?a es una disciplina cient?fica que estudia los restos materiales de las actividades humanas en el pasado. De la combinaci?n de ambas disciplinas surge la arqueomalacolog?a, cuyo objetivo es el estudio de los restos de moluscos en los yacimientos arqueol?gicos y sus implicaciones sobre el conocimiento de los antiguos pobladores y su entorno.
