La correspondencia in?dita de Kurt Schindler como una fuente directa para contextualizar la vida musical del primer tercio del siglo XX

Abstract

[ES]El m?sico alem?n Kurt Schindler, nacido en Berl?n en 1882 y muerto en Manhattan en 1935, es una personalidad enigm?tica y cosmopolita, como se desprende de su correspondencia que trataremos de relacionar cronol?gicamente en este art?culo. Gracias a los testimonios que nos ofrecen estas cartas, podemos dibujar un perfil biogr?fico m?s completo de su persona, conocer la actividad musical que desarroll? durante sus primeros a?os de residencia en Estados Unidos, sus trabajos de campo primero en Odesa y m?s tarde, entre 1920 y 1930, en la Espa?a rural de esas dos d?cadas, sus continuos viajes a Europa en esas fechas y finalmente, sus relaciones con otros m?sicos y artistas contempor?neos. Con toda esta informaci?n, pretendemos rescatar su figura del olvido, ya que la alta estima que tienen de ?l sus contempor?neos nos hacen replantearnos cu?les fueron las circunstancias personales que le llevaron a esa especie de ostracismo en nuestros d?as: ?un ni?o prodigio que ve truncada su carrera musical en Alemania por el suicidio dram?tico de sus padres?, ?un m?sico alem?n y jud?o errante por Europa en el periodo de entreguerras?, ?un m?sico de alta formaci?n cultural y nivel social que no encuentra acomodo en la sociedad neoyorquina de comienzos del siglo XX?
