A Experiência da Leitura no Ensino Secundário

Abstract

Result of the Supervised Teaching Practice at Escola Secundária Pedro Nunes, this report reflects on the teaching of literature today, exalting the importance of the teacher's role in acquiring reading habits, for pleasure, of their students, avoiding reproductive methodologies and sharing his love for literature. This document also addresses the parent-teacher relationship — a relationship of obstacles —, starting from direct and private observation to a comprehensive conclusion covering all teaching. Afterwards, it presents the path and results of the Supervised Teaching Practice, from the perspective of analyzing the implementation of strategies to promote the enjoyment of reading in the classroom, based on guided readings, the sharing of individual experiences of group readings — in within the scope of a reading club —, of performative reading — a reading with gestures and incorporation of the student into the heart of the text, building meaning with it. Finally, it is shown how an activity entirely centered on the celebration of literature contributes to mobilizing and uniting the entire school community. In short, here is a report that aims to present solutions to combat low reading rates among the Portuguese.
