El lenguaje infantil. Algunos lugares comunes revisitados

Abstract

Los intercambios verbales en períodos de desarrollo tienen un atractivo especial desde el punto de vista lingüístico. Tanto por sus singularidades como por su fuerza comunicativa, la lengua de los niños seduce en su dinamismo y en su fulgurante evolución. Pero la relevancia lingüística del habla infantil exige revisar algunos tópicos del proceso de adquisición con objeto de acoplar ciertos principios al enfoque sobre las interacciones reales y espontáneas. En esta contribución se consideran tres asunciones conceptuales que deben ser redefinidas, a saber (1) la adquisición del lenguaje innata y automática, (2) el conocimiento de la lengua potencial y abstracto, y (3) la interpretación de la adquisición como adquisición de la gramática. Y se someten a juicio y valoración dos cuestiones de método, (a) ¿el lenguaje en proceso de desarrollo ha de ser abordado como producto instantáneo y universal? , y (b) ¿la teoría de la adquisición debe ser un modelo hipotético de mecanismos?
