Test de independencia en series temporales

Abstract

Las series temporales son un campo de estudio con un gran número de aplicaciones. Es difícil imaginar una rama de conocimiento que no guarde algún tipo de relación con las series temporales. El estudio de éstas está muy presente en campos tan diversos como la economía, la sociología o el medio ambiente. Una de las cuestiones más interesantes que trata el estudio de las series temporales es la predicción de valores de un parámetro, conocidos los valores de dicho parámetro en instantes de tiempo anteriores. Pero antes de ello hay que verificar la predictibilidad de la serie temporal en cuestión; y es precisamente éste el punto en que se centra el presente documento. Es decir, se tratará la detección de la independencia en series temporales. En el capítulo 1 se tratan algunas generalidades de series temporales. Se establece una definición formal de serie temporal, se presentan diversos ejemplos de series temporales y se fijan los objetivos del análisis de éstas. En el capítulo 2 se presentan y desarrollan varios métodos cuyo fin es determinar si cierta serie temporal presenta o no independencia. Los test descritos se acompañan de varios ejemplos explicativos y de aplicación, y son los siguientes: - Test de M. Matilla y M. Ruíz. - Test de J. M. Amigó, S. Zambrano y M. A. F. Sanjuán - Test de J. S. Cánovas y A. Guillamón. - Test BDS. Finalmente, en el capítulo 3 se muestran los resultados de un estudio comparativo entre los test presentados en el capítulo 2. Se concluye el capítulo con algunas conclusiones sobre el funcionamiento de los diferentes métodos.
