Coimbra soundwalk

Abstract

We usually go outside less and less concerned with the sound, but with the look, very influenced by the whole set of images we face everywhere. Posters, logos, typography, among many others. The world itself today requires us to look more to him than to listen to him. This project is a way to counteract this trend, using a mobile device that serves both to be heard and be seen - the smartphone. With its popularity nowadays, the paradigm of content delivery to the general public, regardless of what is the origin, have changed, and is made largely by mobile devices. In short, through an application I intend that users are mostly focus on the sense of hearing. It is proposed a Soundwalk by the city of Coimbra. Giving special attention to the sounds and neglecting some narration that accompanies them. Coimbra, as well as any other historical city, has to be seen. But the information that is transmitted to us through the eyes can not be sufficiently rewarding. Thus, the auditory component is critical. There are sounds everywhere, some pleasant, others not so much, but most of them always have something to tell us.
