Conforto térmico: Estudo paramétrico

Abstract

Due to increased quality of life especially in developed countries, the thermal comfort has been required a growing concern over the years especially in terms of energy efficiency studies in order to reduce energy consumption without lowering the comfort level of the occupants. The level of thermal comfort is a citizen’s right, which may be required allowing a well-being in terms of health, productivity and longevity. The thermal comfort inside buildings depends on several parameters including: metabolic rate, clothing, air temperature, radiant temperature, air velocity and water vapor pressure. This master thesis aim to study the sensitivity analysis of the thermal comfort index PMV-PPD through a parametric study, making a change of the parameters that influence thermal comfort mentioned above. The study was conducted through a worksheet that is based on the methodology developed by Fanger and proposed in the ISO 7730 standard, as well as an American software that allows to make a comparison between the standards ASHRAE-55 and EN-15251. Taking into account the results obtained, it can be observed that parameters such as the air velocity and the water vapor pressure have a lower importance on human thermal comfort relative to the reference situation and the range of values studied in comparison with other parameters such as the level of metabolism, clothing, air temperature and mean radiant temperature. Comparing the European and the American standards the results obtained for the thermal comfort indexes are very similar and the differences between them are only residual.
