Sobre a epigrafia romana do Baixo Côa

Abstract

A brief overview about the Sá Coixão’s book A Romanização no Baixo Côa. Particular interest is given to the chapters where the epigraphic documents are mentioned, in view of suggesting another ways to study this important corpus. Really, the Roman inscriptions of this region are very original, notably because – yes, we have the ex-vota and the funerary texts as usually... – these Romans had given special attention to the utilitarian inscription, if we can qualify them so. Here, an hortus; there, a via prepared by a pre-roman people; and further, a singular traiectus... Key-words: Roman Lusitania; Roman epigraphy; Baixo Côa.
