Abstract

The affective commitment with the work team contributes to groups and organizations achieving competitive advantage and success. Thus, analyzing the factors that influence this variable has been the object of study of several investigations. Based on an IMOI approach, this dissertation aimed to study, in the context of teams with some degree of virtuality, the relationship between group trust and affective commitment to the team, considering group reflexivity as a mediating variable. For that, an empirical study was carried out, with a cross-sectional nature, focusing on 111 Portuguese work teams from different sectors of activity. The method of data collection used was the questionnaire survey. Data were analyzed at group level, and a simple mediation model was tested using PROCESS.The results revealed that group reflexivity partially mediates the relationship between group trust (in its two components) and the affective commitment with the team. These data reinforce the literature and the fact that group trust works as a strategy to increase the affective commitment with the team, either directly or through the increase of group reflexivity. ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
