O impacto do Eu Atual, Ideal e Social na Paixão à marca: o papel mediador do Tribalismo

Abstract

Objetivo: O objetivo principal deste trabalho de investigação consiste em investigar alguns antecedentes (Eu Atual, Ideal e Social) e consequentes (Paixão à marca Harmoniosa e Obsessiva) do Tribalismo à marca. Para melhor entender o Tribalismo à marca, também se procederá a uma análise que irá demonstrar o seu possível efeito mediador na relação entre os Eus e a Paixão à marca. Por último, esta dissertação pretende compreender o possível efeito moderador que tanto a autoestima,como a preocupação com a imagem pública poderá ter na relação entre o Tribalismo e a Paixão à marca.Metodologia/Abordagem: De forma a cumprir com os objetivos anteriormente propostos, foi desenhado um modelo concetual com 7 hipóteses de investigação, tendo sido posteriormente realizado um estudo quantitativo. Através de um questionário online, obtiveram-se 239 inquéritos válidos. A análise dos dados foi realizada com recurso ao Modelo das Equações Estruturais.Resultados: Esta dissertação apresenta resultados que comprovam o impacto das três dimensões do Eu no Tribalismo, assim como o impacto do Tribalismo na Paixão à marca. Adicionalmente, os resultados também demonstram que a autoestima e a preocupação com a imagem pública reforçam,através de efeitos moderadores, a relação entre o Tribalismo e a Paixão à marca.Limitações e futuras linhas de investigação: Esta dissertação apresenta uma amostra relativamente pequena, com apenas 239 respondentes, pelo que se recomenda uma recolha maior. Adicionalmente,apenas um dos diversos consequentes do Tribalismo à marca foi estudado, pelo que poderá ser importante considerar outros consequentes.Contribuições práticas: A nível prático, esta dissertação apresenta algumas estratégias a usar para melhor conhecer o consumidor. Além disso, a nível de gestão ou criação da tribo, também são apresentadas algumas estratégias a nível de Marketing Tribal que poderão ser favoráveis ao sucesso da marca.Originalidade/Valor: Primeiramente, sendo que, tanto os antecedentes como os consequentes do Tribalismo à marca apresentados nesta dissertação não aparentam ter sido estudados anteriormente,esta dissertação contribui no avanço da literatura deste tema. Adicionalmente, este trabalho apresenta um melhor reconhecimento de uma tribo e aquilo de que uma marca poderá beneficiar com a criação ou mantimento do fenómeno.

Purpose: The main purpose of this investigation is to further explore some of the antecedents (Actual, Ideal and Social Self) and outcomes (Harmonious and Obsessive Brand Passion) of Brand Tribalism. To better understand Brand Tribalism, an analysis will beconducted in order to demonstrate its possible mediator effect in the relation between the Selves and Brand Passion. Finally, this dissertation also seeks to better understand the possible moderating effect both from self-esteem and public self-consciousness in the relation between Brand Tribalism and Brand Passion.Methodology/Approach: To accomplish these purposes, it was drawn a conceptual model with 7 investigation hypotheses with a quantitative study carried out consequently. An online survey resulted in 239 valid answers. The data analysis was conducted according to the Structural Equation Model.Findings: This dissertation exhibits findings that prove the impact of the three dimensionsof the Self in Brand Tribalism, as well as the impact Brand Tribalism has on Brand Passion. Additionally, these findings also show that both self-esteem and public self-consciousness strengthens the relation between Brand Tribalism and Brand Passion.Research limitations/implications: This dissertation had a relatively small sample of 239respondents, a bigger sample is advised. Moreover, it was only tested one of many possible outcomes of Brand Tribalism, it would be important to consider more in the future.Practical implications: On a practical level, this work presents some strategies that willhelp to a better knowledge on the consumer. Furthermore, some Tribal Marketing strategies are also provided for a better development or management of a tribe.Originality/Value: First, as neither the antecedents nor outcomes of Brand Tribalism studied in this dissertation have been explored before, this study provides further improvements on the literature around this theme. Additionally, this study presents a better acknowledgment of a tribe and the advantages a brand may have from building or preserving such phenomenon.
