Resistência mecânica do betão curado em condições adiabáticas

Abstract

Large concrete structures, such as dams and bridges, have a high potential for cracking due to tensions induced by temperature gradients generated inside the concrete. These temperature gradients occur when heat generated in the concrete is dissipated into the surrounding environment. In these conditions, the concrete surface temperature is lower then one observed in the interior; hence the tensile stresses in the surface concrete. Since this phenomenon occurs at the beginning of concrete hardening, it is easy for tensile stresses to exceed the concrete tensile strength, causing cracks, which ultimately affect the integrity and durability of the structure.Works exist where the thermal issues were studied. The calorific value and the coefficient of transmissibility of these materials as infinite masses are known relatively well. But the consequences of the curing temperature on the strength of these materials are not known with due rigor. In the present dissertation it is intended to evaluate the changes of the resistant properties of a concrete subject to different curing temperatures. For this purpose, several cubes cured at different temperatures will be built, where an attempt will be made to understand the evolution of the resistance over time. Regarding the curing temperatures, the analysis will begin by placing the test specimens under ambient conditions and then in a controlled environment using a greenhouse for this purpose..............................................
