Abstract

The affective commitment to the team is a key factor for the success of organizations, as a committed workforce organizations and teams can ensure their performance and ultimately, ensure the survival of organizational structure. Thus, it is important to strengthen this psychological state at the group level, given the value that teams have today in the world of organizations. The present study, based on a mediation model, tested the different relationships between three constructs at team level: reflexivity and affective commitment, reflexivity and work engagement, work engagement and affective commitment, and the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between the other two constructs. For this purpose, an empirical study was conducted using a questionnaire survey as a method of collecting data, with 58 teams from 38 organizations from several sectors of activity, and all these teams had a degree of virtuality. The results of the present investigation revealed the positive and statistically significant effect of the role of reflexivity and work engagement in promoting affective commitment with the team. O comprometimento afetivo com a equipa é um fator essencial para o sucesso das organizações, na medida em que uma força de trabalho comprometida pode assegurar o bom desempenho grupal/organizacional e em última análise, a sobrevivência de muitas estruturas organizacionais. Assim, torna-se importante potenciar este estado psicológico a nível grupal, dado o valor que as equipas têm hoje no mundo das organizações. O presente estudo, com base num modelo de mediação, testou as relações entre três construtos a nível grupal: reflexividade e comprometimento afetivo, reflexividade e envolvimento e envolvimento e comprometimento afetivo, e ainda, o papel mediador do envolvimento na relação entre os outros dois construtos. Para ir ao encontro destes objetivos, foi conduzido um estudo empírico, com recurso à técnica do questionário para a recolha de dados, com 58 equipas de 38 organizações de diversos campos de ação, sendo que todas têm algum grau de virtualidade. Os resultados da presente investigação revelam um efeito positivo e estatisticamente significativo do papel da reflexividade e do envolvimento no trabalho na promoção do comprometimento afetivo com a equipa. Por fim, consideramos o nosso estudo um bom contributo para o estudo das equipas com algum grau de virtualidade, reforçando a necessidade de continuar a investigar nesta área. Tanto pelo aumento do número de equipas com estas características, como pela dimensão dos benefícios associados à reflexividade, ao envolvimento e ao comprometimento afetivo para a próprias equipas e as suas organizações
