Derivadas e suas aplicações

Abstract

AbstractThis dissertation aims to contribute to the teaching-learning process of Mathematics in High School, in the particular domain of functions and their derivatives. In my teaching practice, I have found that students perform, with some success, algebraic manipulations in activities involving derivative functions, without having to attribute many conceptual meanings. I could see that the students present difficulties in understanding these concepts. Thus, in order to teach the derivatives not to rely on the mechanical and excessive calculation of operations and algebraic techniques, to the detriment of understanding, I proposed to research on the concept of functions and their derivatives, which is part of the programmatic content of Differential calculation. The present study resulted in the present work, which is divided into two distinct parts. The first one consists of a bibliographical survey on the subject and the second, a work of experimental and investigative nature, supported by the productions carried out by the students in the context of the Direct observation of student work and participation was also a tool for collecting data, as well as interviews and some photographic records. Among the main results, there is a breakthrough in the conceptual understanding of derivatives and their application in problem solving. The main constraints that emerged in this form of pedagogical approach were time management, the extension of the program and the different rhythms of student learning.
