Sistema Aquífero Condeixa Alfarelos (O31)- Modelação hidrogeológica conceptual

Abstract

The present dissertation aims at the geological and hydrogeological characterization of the Condeixa - Alfarelos Aquifer System (O31), and the area of 185 km2 under study coincides with the limits of the system in question. The work was divided in 4 phases, (1) collection of bibliographical information, (2) field recognition, (3) data processing (wells), (4) creation of conceptual sectoral models. The bibliographical research carried out for the study area and for the surrounding region and the geological, geomorphological and structural reconnaissance of the field allowed us to obtain some hydrogeological data that characterize the local subterranean environment and, in particular, the Condeixa-Alfarelos aquifer system. The mentioned elements were subsequently related to existing information on water collection wells in the study area (provided by the APA-ARH Centro) which presented the appropriate geographic locations, sizing and crossed lithologies. In a final phase, through sectoral conceptual models it was possible to obtained the following conclusions (1) refining, not only the geometry of the Condeixa-Alfarelos aquifer system, but also the limits of its aquifer units in N and W sectors; (2) the possible existence of a fourth productive level adjacent to the formation C2Ls; (3) he importance, albeit locally, of the suspended aquifers present in the formations adjacent to C2Ta; (4) a better understanding of underground hydrodynamics Key words: Hydrogeology, Conceptual modeling, Aquifer, Aquifer System O31
