Abstract

elencar e contextualizar alguns exemplos que poderão ajudar a confirmar a teoria explicativa defendida.
Assume-se no presente trabalho que também entre nós se verificou a presença marcante de mundividências darwinistas sociais, de preocupações nacionalistas, de valores e práticas antisemitas. Justifica-se, nomeadamente, lembrar que Portugal conhecera, durante três séculos, políticas sistemáticas de destruição das respectivas comunidade e cultura judaicas.

Procura-se neste texto não tanto apresentar um estudo monográfico original sobre a problemática delimitada, mas propor um balanço acerca da produção historiográfica relativa ao fenómeno do antisemitismo em Portugal na segunda metade do século XIX e na primeira metade do século XX

aventar uma hipótese interpretativa diferente da leitura dominante
