Agrupamento de conectores aço-betão perfurados

Abstract

The composite structures, particularly those composed of concrete and steel, have evolved to become an increasingly efficient and economical solution. The connection between the constituent materials through connectors has been a much studied aspect, as it is responsible for the composite behaviour of the section. A connector which has shown an excellent structural response is the Perfobond connector. Several types of connectors have already been covered, however the study of groups of these connectors is far from being complete. This Dissertation, included in an integrated Master work, presents the study of the structural response of groups of Perfobond connectors placed side by side, with different arrangements. The main objective involves assessing the connection resistance, ductility, failure mode and comparing the load supported by each connector assembly configuration, in order to obtain an expression for the interaction of the connectors. The experimental work was performed at the Civil Engineering Department, University of Coimbra, where sixteen push-out tests were made, submitted to monotonic loading. Five different groups of Perfobond connectors and a group of Studs were studied. The experimental program has met the recommended specifications in Eurocode 4 for this type of tests. The main characteristics of the experimental work are described, such as the test layout, tested geometries, instrumentation and the load application process. The results are presented and discussed, performing some considerations about them. Comparisons with existing analytical models are also presented and an innovative analytical model to cope with the interaction of multiple Perfobond connectors was proposed. Finally, are presented some proposals for future work.
