Reação de Diels-Alder assistida por micro-ondas

Abstract

This research has been done since November 2012 until to July 2013, in the Department of Chemistry, University of Coimbra. This work began with the synthesis of three different "Chalcones" that would serve later as intermediate compounds in the Diels-Alder reaction. The Chalcones are compounds with a characteristic structure and varied therapeutic activity and were synthesized, in this work, by Claisen condensation-Scmidt. Chalcone 3 was used as a reagent in the synthesis of 4,6- diaryl-3 ,4- dihydropyrimidinothiones. Subsequently were synthesized 6 differents dihydropyrimiditiones of Biginelli under microwave irradiation, for use as dienophiles in the Diels-Alder reaction. Diels-Alder reaction was developed between ciclopentadiene (diene) and intermediates (dienophiles) prepared in different reactional conditions. The Diels-Alder was tested under conventional heating and mainly underwave irradiation. Both heating systems were analyzed and compared, the microwave assisted reactions have better resulsts.
