SECOND - Animação 3D com recurso a motion capture

Abstract

Efforts operated by the visual effects industry in recent decades, have contributed strongly to minimize the separation between reality and fiction, is common to watch movies whose landscapes or characters, though fanciful, reach unprecedented levels of realism. Through the visual effects applied to each frame of an animation, or by filming actors using the motion capture technique, it is possible to design a costume for a realistic plan, injecting life and excitement in inanimate figures or, as is often the case, purely virtual figures. This thesis comes from the interest of the applicant for animation and particular CGI, and aims to develop a design project that explore these techniques in order to create a short film with a fanciful and sentimental theme to establish a strong link with the spectators. Despite the existence of various technologies and techniques in the market, want to explore is the most accessible to students without expending a lot of resources. Thus, investigating the techniques and tools more accessible (low-cost) to produce a 3D animated short film using motion capture. Initially shows the state of the art, existing projects and similar techniques. The story was created based on computer modeling and motion capture techniques that are intended to explore. All materials, including characters and settings were digitally produced. A third step carried out a post-production consisting in adding visual effect, color and sound treatment. Finally, after completing the animation, was made an analysis of the tools used herein that enabled the production of the short film.
