Abstract

The present research had a main goal: the development of an intervention program applicable in school context, and the study of its efficacy. The pillar of Programa Feliz (Happy Program), name attributed to the intervention, has been Positive Psychology and all its outlines such as positive emotions, signature strengths, flow, thankfulness, forgiveness, empathy, resilience and mindfulness. The sample is consists of 140 individuals, divided into a control and an experimental group. The data was obtained at two different moments, before and after the application of the program, at Instituto Educativo de Souselas, in Coimbra. The results achieved with this investigation suggests evidence of its validity, not only quantitatively but also qualitatively, since the differences in pre and post tests revelead positive results on the experimental group on the following dimensions: attention, concentration, positive affect and decrease anxiety and avoidance in situations related to school. This study intends to be the starting point of future investigations, as the objectives defined at the beginning of the present research have been accomplished.
