Abstract

Através de uma Autoetnografia, o presente estudo objetiva refletir e analisar minha trajetória de vida e relações com o sofrimento psíquico e a saúde mental, desde os anos 80, na Região do Grande ABC Paulista, no Estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Foi realizada uma narrativa a partir dos meus sentimentos e vivências como familiar de pessoa diagnosticada com transtorno mental, bem como minha militância antimanicomial em espaços de defesa da reforma psiquiátrica brasileira. A partir de uma abordagem crítica, vimos o surgimento e a proliferação dos hospitais psiquiátricos e as críticas que levaram à busca pela superação deste modelo asilar. Nossa trajetória familiar e relações com o adoecimento psíquico revelam diferenças de concepções e procedimentos efetuados nas proposições terapêuticas da lógica manicomial e da reforma psiquiátrica, bem como o alcance das transformações sociais a que se propõem. Além da pluralidade e não universalidade das concepções e relações sociais com a loucura nas diversas sociedades e momentos históricos, foi possível constatar que a reforma psiquiátrica foi aquela que proporcionou maior desenvolvimento a mim e a minha família, e mais intensamente aqueles que acederam a um processo de formação permanente e uma rede de projetos e cuidados interseriais.

Through an Experience Report and a Self-ethnography this study aimed to reflect and to analyze my life trajectory and relationships with psychic suffering and mental health since 80's at the Grande ABC region in São Paulo, Brazil. This narrative was based in my experience with a person diagnosed with mental disorder as well from my commitment with anti-madhouse struggle in defense of Brazilian psychiatric reform. From a critic view was observed the psychiatric hospitals increment and the ideas that conduce to this model overcoming. Our familiar trajectory and relationship with mental illness shows differences in conceptual therapeutic between the madhouse logic and the psychiatric reform, as well as the scope of the social transformations that it propose. We could observe the plurality and non universality of the conception and social relationship with madness at different societies and history moments. We also observed that the psychiatric reform proportionated my family and I better development, specially those who had approach a permanent study process and an intersectoral project and care network.
