Parâmetros imunológicos de biocompatibilidade de membranas de diálise

Abstract

A biocompatibilidade de um material artificial é tanto maior quanto menos a sua capacidade de desencadear a activação de sistemas celulares e humorais quando posto em contacto com o organismo vivo. O estudo da biocompatibilidade em relação com a hemodiálise é de particular relevância clínica, já que se trata de uma situação em que, de forma repetitiva, ocorre exposição do sangue a um material não biológico (membrana de diálise), com determinadas características física e químicas. A interacção sangue-membrana de diálise tem vindo a ser estudada nos últimos anos, persistindo todavia muitas indefinições dada a complexidade dos mecanismos intervenientes. Abordam-se alguns dos parâmetros actualmente aceites com avaliadores da biocompatibilidade de membranas de diálise: activação do complemento e neutrófilos do sangue periférico. Apresenta-se a experiência própria num estudo de 10 doentes insuficientes renais crónicos em hemodiálise com membranas de cuprofano em que se avaliaram as modificações intradialíticas das células leucocitárias por citometria de fluxo.
