Abstract

O texto de uma epígrafe romana do séc. III (CIL II 112 = IRCP 382) constituiu o pretexto para se escrever uma divertida aventura dos dois jovens senadores nela citados, pela cidade de Liberalitas Iulia Ebora, cujo ambiente urbano é, assim, evocado. Aproveita-se o ensejo, ao comentar esse livro, para fazer um relacionamento entre os monumentos epigráficos e a literatura, na sua recíproca influência.

O texto é o nº XVIII da série subordinada ao tema geral 'A epígrafe latina como elemento didáctico', em que se procura demonstrar como os monumentos epigráficos fornecem excelentes dados para o conhecimento não apenas da história romana mas também para o estudo da língua latina.
