Resumo A radicalização violenta e os actos terroristas são um problema muito actual. Estes processos têm sido alvo de diversos estudos e têm originado vários trabalhos teóricos que procuram entender o processo de radicalização violenta e como se pode actuar de modo a confrontar e evitar este processo. Esta dissertação aborda diversas perspectivas teóricas desenvolvidas no âmbito do contraterrorismo e procura compreender o modo como o nível organizacional do terrorismo pode ser alvo de estratégias e de medidas de contraterrorismo. Para um desenvolvimento de estratégias e de medidas de contraterrorismo eficazes, importa que estas se fundamentem na compreensão do processo de radicalização violenta e do terrorismo, sendo por isso importante analisar se existe um alinhamento entre a teoria e a prática do contraterrorismo
The violent radicalization and terrorists acts are a current problem nowadays. These processes have been subjected to several studies and have originated several theoretical works, which try to understand how the radicalization process happens and how we can interfere with this process. This dissertation addresses several theoretical perspectives about counter-terrorism and tries to understand how organizational level of terrorism can be object of counter-terrorism strategies and measures. The development of effective counter-terrorism strategies and measures must be based on the comprehension of the violent radicalization process and of terrorism, therefore it is important to analyze if the practice is in line with the theory
