Diabético tipo 2 : adesão á insulinoterapia

Abstract

The present study is cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational, with exploratory character and aimed to identify and analyze demographic and clinical variables associated with adherence to treatment of diabetes. It has been evaluated a convenience sample of 103 individuals with diabetes type mellitus two making insulin, of which 44.7% were female and 55% male, aged between 34 and 83 years, being the average age of 61.92 years with standard deviation of 8.74 years. The results suggest that sociodemographic variables, the employment situation, social and familiar support perceived are not associated with differences in treatment adherence. The importance of controlling diabetes with insulin, when prescribed, and the need to motivate for treatment, leads to a series of actions taken to ensure control of the consequences of diabetes. Thus, it is essential to increase the education of health professionals on insulin and barriers to treatment adherence, so that they can convey to patients the importance of controlling blood glucose levels.
