Caracterização de solos superficiais na região de Coimbra, Portugal central: um estudo de magnetismo ambiental

Abstract

Foram estudadas 32 amostras de solos superficiais na área de Coimbra. Mediu-se a magnetização remanescente isotérmica a 1 T (tesla), -25 mT, -100 mT e -300 mT e procedeu-se à determinação dos S-ratios. Da análise destes parâmetros, e a partir do mapeamento da MRI1 T, verificouse que os valores mais elevados se situam junto a vias de comunicação, linhas de água e em solos desenvolvidos sobre rochas metamórficas. Os valores dos S-ratios a -100 mT e -300 mT confirmam a presença de estruturas ferrimagnéticas.

Thirty two samples of topsoils in the area of Coimbra were studied. The isothermal remanent magnetization at 1T (tesla), -25 mT, -100 mT and-300 mT were measured and the S-ratios were determined. From the analysis of these parameters and from the mapping of MRI1T, we found that the highest values of MRI1T are located along the roads, streams and soils developed on metamorphic rocks. The values of S-ratios (-100 mT and -300 mT) confirm the presence of ferrimagnetic structures.
