Abstract

The present article describes the results of an experimental action-research project carried out in three secondary-school classes (7th and 8th forms), with the aim of preventing academic failure. The project was an attempt to promote a relational practice in Psychology derived from the Relational Theory of Behaviour and Personality (NUTTIN). In this context, lack of academic success is seen as a consequence of the net of significant interactions between the individual and the world, nor as the result of any personal defficiency or as the exclusive or predominant product of the organization or Society. Consequently, rather than focussing on the promotion or the cognitive development of the students, the project includes activities with the teachers and parents of the students, in an attempt to improve the interpersonal relationships which develop among all the members of the «educational project.»
