O presente relatório, intitulado de "Mobilidade Urbana Sustentável em Chaves", resultou do estágio curricular realizado na Câmara Municipal de Chaves, com o objetivo principal de analisar e propor soluções sustentáveis para a mobilidade urbana, principalmente através da criação de uma rede ciclável municipal e com um foco particular na conversão das antigas linhas ferroviárias para ecopistas. Esta investigação procurou articular as necessidades atuais da mobilidade sustentável e a valorização do património ferroviário desativado, numa perspetiva de desenvolvimento territorial.Os principais resultados evidenciam o potencial significativo do Município de Chaves para o desenvolvimento de soluções de mobilidade sustentável, onde foi proposta uma rede ciclável que abrange e interliga os principais polos geradores da cidade, como escolas, hospitais, zonas residenciais e equipamentos públicos, oferecendo uma alternativa viável e eficaz ao transporte motorizado. Por sua vez a análise da antiga Linha do Corgo revelou oportunidades estratégicas para a criação de uma ecopista transfronteiriça e supramunicipal, capaz de dinamizar o território e ainda promover o turismo sustentável. O estudo identificou e estudou um património ferroviário que se considera valioso, incluindo estações, apeadeiros e outras infraestruturas e equipamentos, com potencial de transformação em novas funcionalidades (museus, centros culturais, espaços de restauração e alojamento). This report, entitled ‘Sustainable Urban Mobility in Chaves’, is the result of an internship carried out at Chaves City Council, with the main objective of analysing and proposing sustainable solutions for urban mobility, mainly through the creation of a municipal cycle network and with a particular focus on converting old railway lines into eco-trails. This research sought to articulate the current needs for sustainable mobility and the enhancement of decommissioned railway heritage, from a territorial development perspective.The main results highlight the significant potential of the municipality of Chaves for the development of sustainable mobility solutions, where a cycle network was proposed that covers and connects the city's main hubs, such as schools, hospitals, residential areas and public facilities, offering a viable and effective alternative to motorised transport. In turn, the analysis of the old Corgo railway revealed strategic opportunities for the creation of a cross-border and supra-municipal eco-trail, capable of boosting the territory and promoting sustainable tourism. The study identified and examined valuable railway heritage, including stations, halts and other infrastructure and facilities, with the potential to be transformed into new functions (museums, cultural centres, restaurants and accommodation).
