The curricular internship is a fundamental stage in the transition between the academic world and professional practice. As well as being a formal validation of the skills acquired throughout the course of studies, the internship is, above all, a first contact and a first experience of immersion in a real working environment, in which theoretical knowledge is confronted with the demands of day-to-day organizational life. This report focuses on the activities carried out at the Human Resources Management Service of the University of Coimbra (UC) as part of the curricular internship for the master's degree in Organizational Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the UC. The internship was supervised by the department's organizational psychologist, Dr. Joana Lopes, and supervised by Professor Teresa Rebelo, from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. It lasted approximately nine months, starting on September 18, 2024 and ending on June 13, 2025 and took place in person, although with some flexibility to carry out occasional tasks remotely if necessary. The choice of the UC as my internship site came not only from the previously established link as a student, but also from the opportunity to get to know, in a practical way, the role of the organizational psychologist in the context of public administration and the relevance of the tasks to be carried out during the internship, in which I could understand and intervene in internal processes related to people management and organizational development. This experience proved to be very broad and enriching from the outset, as it covered different areas and topics covered during the first year of my master's degree, something that would not have been covered so easily in another possible internship location due to the strong focus on the area of recruitment and selection. The report is divided into three chapters: the presentation of the action system, the activities carried out and, finally, the overall analysis of the internship. In the first chapter, Presentation of the Action System, the secular history of the UC is presented, as well as its internal organization through a contextualization of its structure, culture, values, mission and strategic plan to betterframe the activities carried out. In addition, a presentation of the internal structure of the HRMS is given, describing its competencies and the units/divisions that make it up, along with an analysis of the organizational structure of the UC.The second chapter, Activities Developed, mentions and describes all the processes and tasks carried out during the internship, framed and analyzed in the light of models, theories and approaches from different authors, providing a link between the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired. In this chapter, the activities carried out are grouped by areas of activity, from Job Analysis to training planning, promoting well-being and psychological health in the workplace, supporting training activities, promoting and organizing teambuildings, taking part in welcoming and integrating workers and experiencing other activities, making a total of seven areas of activity. Finally, the third chapter, Global Analysis of the Internship, provides a critical reflection on the whole process. This reflection discusses the skills acquired and developed, the strengths and weaknesses and the strategies adopted to overcome difficulties.
