Abstract

A formação inicial de professores, ministrada por instituições de ensino superior e com a colaboração de estabelecimentos de educação pré-escolar e de ensino básico e secundário, é essencial para a habilitação profissional. Esta visa capacitar os futuros docentes com conhecimentos teóricos e práticos que abrangem as dimensões éticas, pedagógicas, sociais e culturais. No contexto do Mestrado em Ensino de Biologia e Geologia no 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário, o presente relatório descreve a dimensão prática da formação, o estágio pedagógico, realizado no ano letivo 2023/2024 na Escola Secundária Infanta D. Maria. O objetivo foi planificar uma temática de Geologia e outra de Biologia, nomeadamente, o vulcanismo e a célula, ambos conteúdos do 10.º ano, uma vez que o estágio foi realizado com duas turmas neste ano de escolaridade. Para tal, foram selecionadas estratégias e recursos que estimulassem o envolvimento cognitivo dos alunos, envolvendo o uso de analogias e de história da ciência, numa dimensão teórica, e o uso de mapas de conceitos, tabelas síntese, modelos e duas tipologias de gamificação numa dimensão mais prática. Adicionalmente, foram desenvolvidas atividades diferenciadas para uma aluna com necessidades educativas especiais, cujo plano curricular é diferente dos demais colegas. A eficácia das estratégias implementadas foi avaliada com recurso a um pré-teste e a um pós-teste, antes e após a intervenção pedagógica, respetivamente, além da elaboração de relatórios nas aulas práticas laboratoriais. A análise dos resultados revela um efeito bastante positivo na evolução dos conhecimentos e do interesse dos alunos em ambas as temáticas.

The initial teacher training, provided by higher education institutions in collaboration with pre-school and primary and secondary education establishments, is essential for professional qualification. It aims to equip future teachers with theoretical and practical knowledge that covers ethical, pedagogical, social, and cultural dimensions. Within the context of the Master in Teaching of Biology and Geology in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education, this report describes the practical dimensions of training: the teaching practice, conducted in the 2023/2024 school year at Infanta D. Maria Secondary School, in Coimbra. The goal was to plan a Geology topic and a Biology one, namely volcanism and the cell, both part of the 10th grade curriculum, as the teaching practice involved two classes of this grade. For this, strategies and resources were chosen to stimulate students’ cognitive engagement, involving the use of concept maps, synthesis tables, models, and two types of gamifications in a more practical dimension. Additionally, differentiated activities were developed for a student with special education needs, whose curriculum plan is different from her peers. The effectiveness of the implemented strategies was evaluated through a pre-test and a post-test. They were conducted before and after the pedagogical intervention, respectively, along with the preparation of reports in laboratory practical classes. The analysis of the results reveals a very positive effect on the student’s knowledge progression and interest in both topics.
